Happy Chinese New Year. I only manage to get 2 greetings done. I hope you like it. This is from inspiration of auspicious greetings and Chinese poetry.
After a while of relying on restaurants and cafe for food, I finally get the mood to cook food that I like to eat. Yes, I am busier than ever but it shouldn't be a reason for me to favor sleeping over cooking.
Love cooking for myself. I get to control taste and type of food I eat and they are simple enough to make.
Woohoo! Tomorrow, I am finally going to try to bake almond cookies, a symbol of luck in Chinese tradition. First time, that I hope it works.
Going more into reducing toxin in our body. Eat fresh, use more healing ingredients for the body.
We live in the environment where it is full of toxic produced by our body, in food we eat, materials we use and the environment.
For this, I call upon #quit smoking to #reduce pollution. Polluted gas goes into your body and other's easily through inhalation.
As a graduate from minor in Commerce, I always remember how importance objectives are. I make sure that I have a personal objective on top of work objectives. Afterall, objectives are the driver of our action.
My career was all over around the place, but I learnt great deal about things from where I need to to where I do not need to. I was talented to do business plan, purchasing order, sourcing, accounting, stock forecast and sales and marketing before I am a food technologist. Well, you would say such a waste of talent to go into food manufacturing. Not precisely ...
From my goals of being in R&D to be a well-rounded food technologist, many things occur. I started to realize being in R&D position isn't the only way of creating better foods. I can create as long as I have thoughts and inspirations.(Well, getting a correct place to manufacture is always a challenge. But, we have copacker that does great job for that) A position is not a limit that stops creativity, passion and dedications.
I am still learning many things right now. I found that it takes so much to held up a manufacturing facility versus being in marketing, I can just say I want x numbers of this product on a particular date, certain documents for our customer and designing packaging that looks perfect for the customers. As a QA, I am completely at the opposite end, what I asked for previously is what I am providing now. And I really see how marketing people are blessed for that.
We trade for what we want in life. I wanted to learn how we keep our food safe and regulatory aspect of foods, that is what I need to forgo. It is such a challenging areas that I tried hard to learn and forced to learn, Expectation always grew higher and higher. Once you started, they never stop -positive and negative effect. Positive: you never stop growing and your growth are monitored. Negative: You are restless.
I see things in a greater depth as I learn about dealing with people. What is not obvious previously is starting to draw itself on a piece of blank paper. It is a knowledge transfer from one level to another level. And when you realize what have been passed on, you move on to the next level. I can understand why people say "in our generation, we used to...." because I started to speak the same language.
The very important objective is maintaining integrity and knowledge as a food scientist through reading, active social media platform, connecting with others, cross learning with different groups of people to enhance knowledge, interactions and open up creativity. Always the biggest objectives of all time. I try to help others in the food safety management system as well. I believe that every companies, even the smallest one should have the resource to help keep their food safe, provided they are commited to deliver quality safe food to the consumers.
