Food sampling is a common marketing strategy to market food to the consumers. It is also a strategy for food technologist, like me to test the market and learn what the consumers think about the food.
1. Food Sampling- A marketing strategy
As a food scientist, I enjoy tasting different products and sometimes, I might be able to pick up a little something to work on my intuition and new product design.
As a consumer, food sampling means free food. You need to love free foods.
2. Performing Food Sampling- A learning strategy
As a food scientist, food sampling plays two distinct roles. First, to sample products to be tested in the lab for purity, microbial and heavy metals. Of course. I love the second one better - to provide and obtained feedback of the product sample. Of course, it requires a little sampling strategy but that is absolutely nothing compared to the data we can gain.
So, beware consumer, you are our lab rats but we gave you the best foods plus with minimal health effect. Hey, wait-a-minute. I am someone lab rats too!
