I am a really picky eater . I don't eat food that I didn't like its taste. My grandparents and my mum would always tell me to eat the braised mushroom they made because it is good for me.
Of course, the taste is not so pleasant that I choose to ignore these braised mushroom. That was me when I was 12/13 years old. Eventually, I grew and one day (I forgot when), I made myself ate these mushroom. I couldn't remember what it was that changed my mind and I have since made mushroom one of the must-have item in my little kitchen.
I guess it was the beneficial nutrients that mushroom had. Some mushrooms are deemed medicinal mushroom (traditionally) as they might aid to cure cancer by boosting immunity and reduce inflammation within our body. Many countries are extremely caution in terms of regulating mushrooms as a medicine for cancer. I worked with medicinal mushroom product previously and must say that I am impressed with the fact that mushroom help cancer patient with their immune system. As a food marketer, I choose carefully what I sell to my consumer because I want to provide the best advice I could.
I don't practice taking concentrated mushroom extract but I do consume mushroom as food because I have learned to like the taste and thinking that I benefit from a functional food.
And that is my story with mushroom: Picky eater turned into a mushroom lover
