Medicine- Does this mean something to you? My mum likes to give me medicine whenever I fall ill. I often neglected her medicine or take the mildest dose. I knew if I kept taking medicine, my body became adapted to the common medicine and somehow, the next time I need a stronger dose or longer duration to cure. We know medical advances have helped us to increase our average life time with the presence of immunization, health care and treatment that cure infections that might threatened our life.
Medicinal treat, I called it, is a quick and risky solution. It is quick to cure/eliminate illness or diseases but it help your body to grow resistance towards the particular medicine. Antibiotic resistance are the common one. Some also believe getting flu shots to prevent flu actually harm you more than not taking it. We know flu is a miserable; we lose the sense of smell and worse, the flowing nose symptoms is not a pleasant thing. Taking flu shots mean pre-exposing yourself to flu virus that are dead or mildly reactive to trigger your immune system to produce antibody, ready to attack similar virus when they enter your body. Flu shots can help the flu virus to alter and mutate into a stronger strains that your body needs to keep producing stronger antibody until a point that the virus is not recognizable.
The bottom point is medicinal treats, isn't always what you want to look for when it comes to health. Yes, medical treatment is the one of the most advancement that human have encountered so far. Medicine is not the only treatment for our health. Food products and natural health products are alternative option towards healthy life. Even Chinese medicine treatment are partially based on natural health products that have medical benefits.
Tip of the day:
If you are worry about having flu, consider taking vitamin C supplement or echinacea extract as a precaution.
With natural health product, it isn't about curing. It is about health improvement before health symptoms occurrence.
